UNI Global Union has condemned this week’s abhorrent terror attack in Tunis which left at least 21 people dead and injured many more.

Tunisian authorities have made multiple arrests since the attack which apparently targeted tourists at a museum in the Tunisian capital.

UNI General Secretary Philip Jennings said, “UNI Global Union strongly condemns the attack carried out on 18th March in the centre of Tunis.”

“We express our solidarity with the Tunisian people and our sincere condolences to the families of the victims."

“Tunisia has undergone an enormous transformation since 2011 when its people made a choice for democracy, for political pluralism, for the respect of human rights and for peace.”

“The Tunisian labour movement has played an essential role in this transition to democracy and we are convinced that in the face of this tragedy you will be determined to defend the democratic principles for which you thought so hard.”
