UGTT members and supporters gathered in the city’s Mohamed Ali square to protest at the action of the militia.



UNI General Secretary, Philip Jennings, “We are disturbed and disgusted by the militia using violence in the face of a legitimate strike. The Arab Spring in Tunisia was about giving people back their human rights and dignity. Labour rights are one of these fundamental human rights and they have been attacked today. UNI stands in solidarity with our affiliate UGTT and offers its full support.”
