On April 4th, 2014, women from the UNI Apro region met in Singapore at a Women's Forum to discuss the recommendations to be made tomorrow (April 5th) at the 15th Meeting of the UNI Apro Women's Committee.

The participants discussed and followed up on the activities that have taken place since the last meeting in Manila 2011.

One of the key items on the agenda was the discussion on how to organize, integrate and empower more young women in the unions. Both Japan and India provided interesting insights into their experiences and case studies.

Amongst the other topics discussed at the meeting were the actions that need to be taken in order to achieve the goal of 40% women representation in all sectors and the introduction of the draft motions that will be discussed in the upcoming UNI World Women's Conference in Cape Town in December 2014.

The debate will continue tomorrow with all the input that was provided at today's meeting.
