UNI APRO "Climate change is union business"
More than 700 union leaders gathered in Kuala Lumpur for the 4th UNI Apro Regional Conference added their voice to the call for ministers meeting in Paris to agree a deal which will substantially decrease the threat of global warming.
Climate change was one of the topics discussed during the first day of the meeting which began with a traditional Malaysian welcome.
Participants came from 26 countries as well as host country Malaysia.
Among those present were the outgoing President of UNI Apro, Naoto Ohmi, UNI Apro General Secretary, Chris Ng, UNI MLC President Mohammed Shafie BP Mammal, and UNI Global Union General Secretary, Philip Jennings.
As well as the Chief Minister of Perek Darul Ridzuan, Dr Zambry, other guests included Julia Mueller, Director of FES in Asia and Noriyuki Suzuki, ITUC AP General Secretary.
