“Misguided, unfair recovery and restructuring plans to reduce the Non-Performing Loans in Public Sector Banks in India; a joint effort by the clutches of the Government and politically connected corporates colluding to loot and finish the Public Sector Banks in India”. Echoed by the prominent speakers addressed the “Dharna” sitting agitation organized by  Indian National Bank Employee’s Federation (INBEF), on 4th March 2016 in New Delhi, before the parliament in India. 

Leaders representing the farming community in India applauded the efforts of INBEF General Secretary Subash Sawant and the team to voice for commonest of common people including the poor farmers who are succumbing due to wrong policies of the Govt.

Shri Yogendra Yadav, National Convenor of Farmers Organizations in India, and Shri Prashant Bhushan, Senior Counsel Supreme Court of India congratulated and expressed gratitude for INBEF’s move to organize the protest campaign on genuine causes of farmers/NPAs rather than taking Bank Employees’ related issues, while addressing the activist at the Dharna.  Supreme Court of India has requested to publish the list of defaulters over 5 Billion Indian Rupees and restrained banks auctioning the properties of a farmer defaulted repayment of Rs. 12,000/= in Madhya Pradesh.

Dharna was organized by INBEF insisting on a favourable Re-structuring of agricultural loans due from farmers in par with terms offered to the corporate borrowers, calling the government to provide adequate capital for needy Banks, implementation of transfer policy for female Bank Employees and stop victimization of trade union officials.

UNI General Secretary Philip Jennings and UNI Apro Regional Secretary Christopher Ng sent messages to INBEF extending the solidarity to the campaign, which was read by Milind Nadkarni, President of the UNI Indian Liaison Council.
