The Tunisian Government, represented by the Minister of Social Affairs, and the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT ), represented by members of its management and the General Secretary of the Federation of professions and services ( UNI Property and Services affiliate) Hayet Trabelsi, signed on Wednesday morning at the Ministry an agreement making more than 6000 cleaners and guards working for public enterprises of the Tunisian State permanent employees.

This agreement crowns three years of difficult negotiations and ends the subcontracted work formerly performed by public enterprises . The revolution of 14 January 2011 has encouraged tens of thousands of subcontracted workers to defend their rights, under the auspices of the Federation of professions and services, for correct, legal and fixed wages with insurance coverage.

The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Social Affairs in the presence of the signatories and was particularly enhanced by the presence of Neil Anderson, Head of UNI Score, and Mongi Abderrahim, UNI  MENA Coordinator. Exchanging the customary speeches , the Minister as well as the leaders of the UGTT commended UNI for its support of Tunisian trade unionists.
