GROW UNI Apro - The Third UNI Apro Regional Conference adopted 9 resolutions and 4 conference statements, a collective commitment to the Breaking Through plan to GROW unions and to GROW UNI in the Apro region.



UNI Apro President, Tomoyasu Kato replaces Joseph De Bruyn who has been elected at the Nagasaki Congress to be UNI World President. The UNI Apro Regional Conference elected its decision making structure - the UNI Apro Executive Commitee for the period 2011-2015 and with that attained a 30% women representation for the region sending a clear signal towards making concrete efforts to reach the 40for40 target by the next UNI Congress in Cape Town 2014.



In Kato's closing address to the UNI Apro Conference, he sets out four priorities:

a) to grow unions and membership

b) to grow union presence in unorganized, new and emerging services sectors

c) to call on resource allocation for the largest region covering 60% of world's population

d) to increase global agreements



UNI Apro President Kato expressed his deep appreciation for Philip Jennings, Joe de Bruyn and Christopher Ng,

to be leading a regional organization wtih so much achievements, history and at the same time, forward looking and calls on the

continued support from all affiliates in UNI Apro during his Presidency.
