syndicom - the union for media and communication in Switzerland is concerned about the sale of Orange Suisse SA by the parent company France Telecom. The sale of Orange should not lead to job cuts in Switzerland. syndicom requires France Telecom to require interested buyers to continue to invest in the infrastructure of today's Orange SA Switzerland. 



Syndicom was concerned but not surprised to hear the intentions of the parent company France Telecom to sell its subsidiary Orange SA Switzerland. After the refusal of a merger between Orange Switzerland and Sunrise Communications AG by the Competition Commission (COMCO), followed by the announcement by France Telecom to reconsider its strategy in certain market sectors, the announcement of the sale is not surprising for syndicom. 



The union syndicom requires France Telecom to take into account in the sale process only buyers ensuring the safeguarding of jobs and investment in Switzerland. The union will not remain inactive if France Telecom carries out the sale in a purely speculative fashion. In addition, it requires - as before - to closely support the negotiations and decisions of the union.
