Confronted with the massive dismantling of the postal network, the liberalization project and its detrimental impact on workers and employment, the Syndicat de la Communication wants to launch an initiative in order to maintain the postal network and the universal service, as well as the financing of the universal service.



The current petition against the dismantling of the postal network is a convincing test to assess the popularity of the public postal services. Over 90 000 people have signed the petition in less than eight weeks. During a demonstration on June 13 in Bern, the Syndicat de la Communication will give the petition to the management of SwissPost, putting an end to this grassroots campaign.



This will also be the occasion to launch an initiative that lays down the 3 main issues of the current postal policy: to maintain the postal services, the liberalization of the postal sector and the claims for a Postal Bank.





If on the 13 June the union delegates approve the launch of the imitative, the Syndicat de la Communication hopes get signatures for the initiative from this autumn onwards.
