UNI World Women’s Committee denounces and firmly rejects the actions taken by Banco BBVA Francés S.A. in Argentina, against our sister Lorena Sarri, who has been the subject of multiple discriminatory and anti-union conducts on behalf of the institution.

Our sister’s rights and activities as a union delegate, to which she is entitled by law, have been used by the financial institution as an excuse to apply “corrective” measures such as decreasing her variable income, significantly impacting her salary to the point that today she perceives 30% less than other co-workers and less than in previous years; or pressing her to change working sectors and even the building where she used to work.

In solidarity with our sister and her plea, we demand that the authorities take notice of this situation and apply the necessary measures to put a stop to this type of actions, which not only are discriminatory, but in clear contravention of those rights guaranteed by law.
