Swedish Security Workers have ended their strike action after winning a new agreement that more than satisfies their demands. Fastighet settled with the employer after solid strikes started on 28th May revealed a depth of support for the key demands of the union relating to casual and temporary workers, unsocial hours payments and the level of the basic wage.



The President of the union Hans Ohland hailed the dispute as a success.



He said, `The Strike finished with enough victories within the agreement. We reached an agreement that is fair compared with other agreements in the sector. The employer Pacta tried to have an agreement that would have given them lower costs compared to other agreements we have made. I Thank the members for their determination to carry on the fight. Also a big Thank You to all support from domestic unions and unions all around.`



The strike action and the success underlined the importance of a strong organized union in the Property Services Sector. UNI Head of Property Services, Alice Dale said `Congratulations to Fastighet! This is a great example to all our affiliates in this sector of what a powerful union can do in the Security Industry.`
