Premier Security management met with the Private Security Guards Union’s president, N.M.Muthappa regarding Provident Fund requests. Following the union’s campaign to gather signatures from workers and supporters, Premier promised all salary payments would be made by 10th of each month.



Recently in Bangalore, SDB Cisco local management tried to pressure Private Security Guards Union members to stop union activities. The union reminded workers that it is their constitutionally-guaranteed right to join a union and the union President confronted SDB Cisco management. The company representatives apologised and agreed to meet with workers to discuss this and other problems.



During February 2008, the union sent over 400 letters requesting Provident Fund balance sheets to security agencies. Once these details are received, the union will help workers to check to see whether their Provident Fund payments are being made correctly.
