UNI affiliates CCOO and UGT and the service federation USO have called their members out on a strike over weekly rest breaks. The Unions representing workers at Makro Spain have been meeting with the management of Makro Spain all day on 28 May in a final attempt to reach an agreement on weekly rest days. Failing to reach a deal, strike action will now be starting on 30 May to increase the pressure on the company.
