Two weeks of action at Atos Origin in the Netherlands have not made management to admit any concessions. Management is still not prepared to raise pay for Atos Origin employees.

So far, quite many employees have actively taken part in various activities in order to convince management to accept a fair pay rise, yet in vain.

Many employees are upset about the intransigence of management because they are convinced they deserve an increase.

Employees at Atos Origin are convinced that for the company a pay rise would mean investment in their intellectual capital, the most valuable asset the company has and improve moral and motivation.

Now employees and their unions are determined to escalate the conflict and take to strike action on 22 April. The Dutch trade unions representing Atos Origin employees believe that the strike will be widely followed because they are really fed up with management.

Going on strike is not only unusual for IT workers, in fact, in the Netherlands, it is going to be the first strike ever in the ICT industry.
