Trade Unions from across many sectors joined together at a UNI seminar on Organizing and Campaigning skills in Colombo. Unions from the Postal, IT, Healthcare, Seafarers, Insurance and Cleaning sectors undertook 3 days of training and sharing of experiences. The unions face many challenges in Sri Lanka and in particular the participation of women, the low level of density and the challenges of globalization.

Delegates talked about the need to have an agreed and shared vision about what the union priorities should be. There was an emphasis on having a clear message, have a strategy for growth and a plan to recruit many new activists especially women.
