THE peaceful strike action for the recognition of the Communication Workers Union as a bargaining agent at Vodacom SA is continuing.

Yesterday, demonstration at Pier Place (central JHB) confirmed the toughness of the working class against the intransigent Vodacom management and their surrogate's imperialist forces.

Our call for real negotiations has fell on deaf ears. CWU is willing to honor any meeting convene and chaired by Chief Executive Officer, Alan Knot-Craig. His integrity and courage to find an amicable solution is well documented in the history of the company and the outside world.

All company's in the ICT industry; particularly where CWU is unconditionally recognized will be served with the secondary strike notice. The Western Cape Province will have demonstration outside the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa – the parliament that has passed the Supreme law of the country (that confirms the protection of civil liberties). The protest action is scheduled for this coming Saturday, July 21 2007.
