Financial Institute Employees Union of Nepal (FIEUN) celebrated the Silver Jubilee on 4th April, 2016. Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister and the President of Nepali Congress, was the guest of honour who inaugurated conference.UNI Asia & Pacific Regional Secretary Mr. Christopher Ng and Governor of Central Bank Dr. Chiranjivi Nepal graced the occasion as special guests. 

FIEUN presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Christpher Ng, UNI Apro Regional Secretary for his pioneering efforts and valuable guidance to form and empower the organization to emerge as a strong trade union representing all employees in finance industry in Nepal.

Financial Institute Employees Union of Nepal was established on 5th Apri,l 1991. It has around 16,500 members nationwide. It covers finance sectors like Banking, Insurance, Stock market, cooperatives. Besides the government/public sectors, it has organized about 10000 members from the private sectors like multinational and foreign joint venture companies.

A special Industrial Peace Award was presented to the Management and Unions in Nepal SBI Bank and Employees Provident Fund Nepal; recognizing the outstanding harmonious industrial relations maintained in the organizqtions; at the FIEUN’s silver jubilee celebrations. A special scholarship was also awarded to the daughter of the former Deputy General Secretary late Bro Prakash K C to continue with higher studies.

FIEUN held its 7th National Council Meeting on 5th April, 2016. About 750 delegates attended the meeting. The meeting was concluded passing the resolutions to perpetuate its organizing campaign mainly focused on private sector, to arrange the capacity development programs for its union members, empowering youth and women and good industrial relation through social dialogue.
