A number of major news agencies are reporting that Spanish Security and Construction companies are about to be exposed as being involved in the payment of millions of euros to corrupt politicians in the Spanish Government. The revelations have already led to demonstrations in the streets of the capital Madrid and to statements from the Government that they will investigate the allegations. Not only could this be a body blow to the Government`s hugely unpopular austerity policy but could hit the companies involved. Corruption scandals involving major companies around the world along with the banking scandals are symptomatic of corporations and governments out of touch with the reality of life for millions of workers affected by such unacceptable behaviour.
