Securitas bought G4S' German business last week for £27 million, but has decided against taking on the Anglo-Danish company's French business, due to "anticipated competition concerns".



The deal will bring 4,100 new employees to Securitas in Germany, bringing their total employee numbers in the country to 19,000, and lifting their market share to 14% in guarding.



German works councils are being consulted throughout the process and do not anticipate that jobs will be lost.



In additon, Securitas announced its acquisition of 2 new companies in Uruguay, SATS and Servicios de Seguridad, which should take the company's market share to 16%.
