The challenges, faced by the trade unions in both countries, and the possible forms of joint actions were discussed.





The meeting between the activists of FTF and the representatives of the Russian trade unions, arranged by the UNI Moscow office, with the help from FNPR and ITUC, was of great interest for all the participants. It was attended by the representatives of the two national trade union centers (FNPR and KTR-VKT). The representatives of the FNPR, the largest trade union center in Russia, described the structure of the Russian trade unions, the peculiarities of their development, and the challenges, faced by the trade unions in Russia. The organizing methods, used by the trade unions in Sweden and in Russia, were discussed and compared. The activists of FTF were especially eager to know about the labor policy of Swedish multinationals in Russia, and the record of these companies in Russia and CIS countries became a focus of the conversation. The new links between the trade unionists of the two countries were established during the meeting, and they will be definitely used to promote the highest labor standards in the service sector companies, which are working both in Sweden and in Russia.
