On Sember 13, UNI Europa together with Eurociett (European Confederation of Private Employment Services) organised the Roundtable meeting on temporary agency work social dialogue in Serbia. The aim of the round tables is to develop a constructive and fruitful social dialogue in the accession countries within the temporary agency work sector. This meeting was one of the series of meetings for accession countries supported by TAIEX. Before, similar meetings were organised in Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, etc. before they joined the EU. 

UNI’s affiliates from the United Union of  Telecom Serbia and colleagues from industrial TU invited in co-operation with industriAll European Trade Union took part as well as the representatives of the government that were in charge on adopting a law on temporary agency work, in line with the ILO Convention on Private Employment Agencies, 1997 (No. 181) and with the EU Directive. In addition, there were participants representing the public employment services, the International Labour Office and the central employers’ federations.

Bringing together all the key stakeholders in an official meeting was a big step ahead for the industry in Serbia. 

At the end of the event, Eurociett and UNI Europa issued a joint document encouraging the local sectoral social partners to build on the positive exchange of the roundtable to continue constructive social dialogue - see the attached document.
