On 6 June in Dublin, on the occasion of the UNI Global Property Services meeting, unions AA.DD.-CCOO, FeS-UGT, FTSP-USO, CGT, FETS-FO, STAD and Ver.di representing Prosegur workers from Spain, France, Portugal and Germany and UNI Global Property Services and UNI Europa Property Services adopted a resolution calling on the Spanish security multinational to start negotiations for the establishment of a European Works Council for Prosegur workers as a matter of urgency.



Despite the fact that the six-month deadline on the formal request from workers’ representatives is about the expire, Prosegur management has not yet started the negotiations for the setting up of an EWC.



Trade unions representing Prosegur workers and UNI Property Services affiliates are calling on the management to convene a first meeting of the special negotiating body. If it fails to do so by 19 June, the company will be in breach of the EWC recast directive 2009/38/CE and Spanish.



The company's slicence is considered as active resistance to its employees' rights to information and consultation.



Prosegur workers’ representatives reiterated their commitment to establish an EWC and to start the negotiations as soon as possible.
