The Bogota Metropolitan Police again visited the offices of Prosegur today to look for Alejandro Agudelo, the manager legally responsible for the company in Colombia. 

It was the second police visit to Prosegur in a week, with the objective of detaining Agudelo. Yet again Agudelo wasn’t in the building and apparently has not appeared to give explanations to the police during the past week.

Members of the Colombian press were at the entrance to Prosegur today, supposedly to accompany the police in their search for Agudelo. 

Prosegur hasn’t complied with a definitive ruling from September 2014 in which the courts oblige the company to rehire a worker who was fired after joining the Sintravalores union. The ruling also obliges Prosegur to pay the worker her salary and social security contributions for the period that she was out of work.

On the 13th of March, Prosegur tried to lift the arrest order against their legally responsible manager, however the request was rejected by a judge due to the company not complying with the September ruling in its entirety. The worker was rehired by Prosegur on Wednesday the 11th of March, however to date has not received her missing salary and social security contributions.

“Agudelo has to give himself up to the Bogota Metropolitan Police and comply with the September 2014 ruling. Prosegur has to pay the worker what is owed to her. This situation is shameful”, said Adriana Rosenzvaig, Regional Secretary of UNI Americas.
