EURO-MEI organized a seminar on equality behind screen and stage in Strasbourg on 26-27 March. The seminar brought together close to 50 participants from all corners of Europe. The seminar was carried out in the framework of a one year project supported by the DG Employment and Social Affairs of the European Commission.



As a preparation to the seminar, EURO-MEI conducted a survey on gender equality among its affiliates, and the results of this survey were presented in the seminar.



The participants exchanged their views on issues like equal pay, work-life balance and the portrayal of women in the media.



The seminar allowed taking stock of the current situation of women working in media and life performance and within the unions in the different countries represented. Participants also exchanged on best practices.



At the end of the seminar the participants listed many common challenges for women working in media and life performance and came up with a series of recommendations and priorities for the future. To download agenda & guidelines for action go to the menu above "related files".
