The FES / UNI seminar on organising for media workers in Africa opened today 25 August 2015 in Abidjan, attended by the Resident Representative of FES Côte d'Ivoire and UNI Africa staff, Aminata Keita, Policy advisor; Leocadie Abouo, Regional Representative and Innocent Tsumbu, Regional Representative. 
They were 11 participants including 5 women from Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria. 
This first day has laid the foundation for work by subjecting participants in reflection exercises on the state of their own union. Highlights concerned the workforce analysis, the quality of members and multinationals that set the framework of the Media, Entertainment and Arts (MEI) in each country. 
The final objective is to increase of the membership of the sector through the work of recruitment of each participating union. It begins with the training of effective recruiters equipped with a realistic recruitment plan that deploy their strategy in their respective countries.
