Following a training workshop in 2015, UNI MEI and FES Abidjan organised a workshop in Abidjan on 6-8 September 2016 to deepen the training on organising strategies and resources. Participating unions were SYNAPPCI from Cote d’Ivoire and ICU from Ghana.

The aim of the workshop was to build on the results of the previous workshop, to discuss organising approaches and strategies in detail and how to translate them into practical organising work. With the guidance of a UNI SCORE trainer, both unions have now identified their key targets and put in place a short-term plan to deploy their organisers and activists, to engage with the workers in the target companies.

The workshop has brought together a group of dynamic young union activists with a drive to implement an organising campaign in the media sector in their respective countries.
