The National Union of Newspaper Workers (NUNW) Malaysia and Star Media Group Berhad have signed a collective agreement on 12th May 2016 which covers 550 non-executive workers including from the printing section.

NUNW secretary-general Soosai Raja Savarmuthu said that it was an auspicious day for Star Media Group employees:“For the past one year, we had a series of discussions. The current economy is bad and it has affected the whole world,”
he said, adding that many factors had to be considered before they could come to an agreement. However, he said that both parties managed to reach a common ground to beneἀ渄t employees in the union.

The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai praised the employees for showing good team spirit and working together for the common good of the company.Wong also praised the union for its professionalism and understanding throughout the process leading to the signing of the agreement.
