After the successful Row The BoaT (RBT) Project, EURO-MEI and EASE (European Association of Sport Employers) have applied for and received funding from the European Commission to develop a new project entitled "Moving forward towards European social dialogue in the sport sector: Content and Contact". This project, abbreviated as CC-Project, pursues the further professionalisation and unification of the sport sector in Europe, on the basis of the outcome of the RBT project. During the new project, which will run from 1 July 2008 until 30 June 2009, the partners will undertake two studies: one on health and safety in the sport sector, and one on standard contracts for sport workers (including athletes). The results of the two studies will be promoted during two-day conferences, one on each subject. The results of the project and the steps forward to be taken after the project period will be discussed during an informal social dialogue meeting in April 2009. EURO-MEI and EASE have been invited by the European Commission to meet with them to complete the next step in officially setting up a new Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Sport.
