The elections became necessary after the resignation of Allan Bang in December 2009.



Edgardo was elected unopposed and unanimously. He is also President of UNI Europa Finance since March. Before he served as one of the Vice-President of UNI Europa Finance since its inception in 2003 and as a member of the UNI Finance Steering Group since 2006. He is a national secretary of his union and a member of the the EU's Economic and Social Committee.
