UNI Post and Logistics Global Union has congratulated Mr. Lin Hongliang, currently the Director General of China Post's Department of Universal Service on his recent election as the next Director General of the Asia Pacific Postal Union. The APPU is the restricted union of the Universal Postal Union which represents postal administrations in 32 countries across the Asian region. UNI Apro P&L and the APPU have collaborated for many years on a number of joint projects and seminars to aid in the development of quality postal services in the region.



In UNI's letter to Mr. Hongliang, UNI noted the history of cooperation between the organisations and expressed its hope that the relationship could be deepened under Hongliang's tenure at the APPU. Postal services in the Asia Pacific region face a number of challenges for the future but also tremendous opportunity for growth and quality improvements. The collaboration between UNI, its affiliates and the APPU and its member states is important to further achieve UNI's goals for quality postal service and also to include a voice for workers during a period of change in the sector.
