Mexico: STRM in action for call centres

In the first week of October STRM kicked off by bringing workers together with STRM organisers and visiting visiting an Atento call center. On 14 October workers attended a meeting of an international tribunal for labour rights where Atento union members talked about the challenges they face in obtaining independent union representation rather than "yellow " or "company" unions which are established by Atento. A delegation from Central America visited STRM and the unions shared their experiences and strategies in union organising. On 28 October, STRM and Atento employees joined many other workers in Mexico City, marching in support of their right for independent and democratic unions. |
