Mexico D.F. Radio and Television employers signed a legal agreement with their respective unions of this industry which establishes a global wage increase of 5.3%; a direct salary increase of 4.6% and 0,7% in benefits.



General Secretaries of the Union of Industrial Workers and Radio and TV Artists (SITATYR), Patricio Flores Sandoval; and from the Union of Workers from the TV and Radio Industry (STIRT), Ricardo Acedo Samaniego signed the agreement. The STIRT leader declared that the agreement mainly benefits Mexico: “In the end, a point of equilibrium has been reached and I want to highlight its real value”.



The Secretary of Labour, Javier Lozano Alarcón, asserted that the industry of Radio and TV has one of the oldest Collective Agreements, because it dates back to 1976. He stated, “ As an industry, in the revision of this legal agreement and during 35 years, workers of this sector have never been engaged in strike”.



Apart from the employer’s representatives, the agreement was signed by the President of the Chamber of Radio and TV Karen Sánchez Abbot. This wage increment benefits more than 20 thousand workers.
