Women as much as men are entitled to equal pay. Women represent 50% of the total labour force. Women make up 60% of all new university graduates.

But
- They are more likely to work in vulnerable employment (60%) or in part-time employment (50%).
- Only 17% of them hold managerial and senior positions in Europe
- When employed in the same jobs as men, they are paid 23% less globally

To tackle that ongoing discrimination, UNI Equal Opportunities on 8 March (which is the International Women’s Day) is launching the UNI Equal Pay campaign.

Men and women must get equal pay for doing the same or a similar job, but also when they do work that is completely different but which, based on objective criteria, is of equal value.
By recognizing women and the vital role they play in both employment markets and economic growth, we are providing not only greater profitability to the economy but we are also promoting social justice and equal opportunities.
