Following the conclusion of successful talks between Airwave and the Communications Workers Union (CWU), the CWU has agreed to suspend all industrial action indefinitely and will recommend to their members that they agree to end the industrial action.

Both parties have agreed that Airwave will undertake a separate review to see where cost efficiencies can be found in the Service Centre, this will include a review of shift patterns. A full Consultation Process will begin in May, with CWU and Connect, which will include regular communication with Service Centre personnel. Airwave and the CWU are very optimistic that combining the use of voluntary redundancy, redeployment within Operations, into the field and the flexible resource pool, that the cost efficiencies can be met without the need for compulsory redundancy.

Both the CWU and Airwave wish to work together to build the future of Airwave and create a great company for all our people. We hope that CWU members will support this proposal and that all parties can move forward.
