Dear Friends,



International Women’s Day is around the corner. This is the day when women around the glob not just celebrate their successes while renew their determination to defeat faced challenges with support of each other’s.



Like many other countries, Pakistani women are also victim of worse law & order, non-stop bomb blasts, unavailability of basic necessities, high inflation, unemployment, termination of basic human rights, restrictions on judiciary & media, energy crises, power load shading and government’s anti workers polices. Country’s first woman prime minister and apposition leader has brutally murdered. Workers (women – men), trade unionists, human rights activists and lawyers are arrested and tortured by authorities. Even though situation is extremely gloomy, but one thing which keeps our hope alive is that workers, women organizations, trade unions, lawyers and media never stop to raise their voices against government’s suppression.



Their struggle shows that in spite of all restrictions and threats women workers and civil society organizations will continue their struggle to bring peace and democracy in the country. No authority can stop women struggle! With this believe Working Women Organization expresses heartiest solidarity and support to all individuals and organizations that are struggling for harmony, justice and democracy.



For paying tribute to women’s resistance WWO is going to organize a Seminar on March 8^th. Seminar will take place in Lahore Press Club, Lahore at 10am to 1pm. Women workers from different professions and representatives of civil society will participate in the program. Media personality, bar council, trade unionist and human rights activist will presents their thoughts regarding women role in building democracy and justice.
