The industriAll Europe Executive Committee adopted a statement on the Unprecedented Attack of the European Commission on Social Dialogue and Social Europe.

At their meeting in Luxembourg on 26-27 November 2013, the industriAll Europe Executive Committee, adopted a statement in clear support of the legal transposition of the Hairdressers agreement on occupational health and safety and insodoing joined the engaged UNI Europa Campaign against REFIT. 

In its REFIT Communication, the EU Commission effectively blocked the Hairdressing sector social partners' request to transform the reached agreement into law. This is unacceptable and the European social partners have mobilised against REFIT in every possible instance. The legal implementation of the European Framework Agreement on Occupational Health and Safety remains a test-case for European Social Dialogue and Social Europe. 

UNI Europa has raised its demands for the unequivocal respect of social dialogue legislation and the autonomy of the European Social Partners in its sectoral social dialogue committees.

Together with the ETUC and the entire European trade union movement, UNI Europa prioritises its campaign actions for the reversal of the Commission's decision on the occupational health and safety agreement in the hairdressing sector and the attack on social partners as exemplified in the REFIT Communication.
