The India Government Mint Union, Tanksal Mazdoor Sabha, based in Mumbai and represented by its General Secretary Bro. Mukund Waje, handed over its application for affiliation in August 2016 to Bro. Milind Madkarni, President of the UNI Indian Liaison Council, who addressed the members and welcomed them to the UNI Family. Tankasal Mazdoor Sabha commands 75% majority in the Mint. The India Govt. Mint in Mumbai is the oldest in India and was established on 18th May 1876.

Javier Carles visited their union office in August and said that he was impressed by the unity of the members. The new partnership will help promote stronger ties amongst the unions in India and the exchange of information and ideas will definitely help the Mint Union in formulating its strategies to counter the growing challenges it is facing.
