FESBACI, the union representing finance workers in Burkina Faso has successfully carried out training with UNI SCORE and UNI Finance in order to build its capacity to organise and collectively bargain for members.

After a three- day strategy and planning workshop with UNI staff held in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, final details for the first stage of the campaign are now being drawn up by the union and its activists. The leadership of the union spent three days looking at how to identify resources, to strategise and to plan an effective organising campaign. An initial 12-week plan has been agreed and UNI will be assisting FESBACI activists to implement activities on the ground in September.

Téné Tougma, General Secretary of FESBACI, was very pleased with the three days of training and said “This was an innovative and exciting approach to organising and we are looking forward to preparing for the week of action in September. We have mapping to complete and new leaders to identify and work with, to ensure real success in the campaign!”
