On Thursday 06^th September 2012 UNI Africa office in Abidjan was visited by some members of ICU-Ghana on a mission in Côte d’Ivoire.



Indeed, the delegation of ICU-Ghana was in Côte d’Ivoire to meet with the trade union of Nestlé Côte d’Ivoire. Being in Abidjan, the Comrades took the opportunity to pay a visit to the UNI office in Abidjan.



It is with great joy and in a fraternal mood that the comrades have been welcomed warmly by the staff. Then, the office was showed to them after the traditional “akwaba” which means “welcome” in Côte d’Ivoire.

They informed the office that they want to create a trade union alliance with Nestlé union in Côte d’Ivoire and Nestlé union in Nigeria. The discussions that followed on the same subject had concluded that trade union alliances are very important because it allows to better defend the interests of workers. The comrades were encouraged to do so by UNI Africa staff.
