Action Alert!



“Global Agreement with HSBC & Santander now!”



UNI Global Union has requested HSBC and Santander meet with UNI and start to negotiate a Global Agreement, but the banks have not yet committed to meet. This week unions throughout the world join together in a Global Action and are personally delivering their own message to their local bank management, demanding a Global Agreement. The aim of the action is to show HSBC and Santander management that UNI unions are united in our campaign for a Global Agreement.



Over 17 countries across the globe will meet with their local HSBC and Santander banks this week to deliver a letter to local management asking the companies to meet and negotiate with UNI.



What is the global agreement for?



A Global Agreement with HSBC and Santander will help to build worker power in the Finance industry.

We are committed to a global agreement with the following key elements:

· strengthened social dialogue processes to engage on workers’ issues.

· access to workers to discuss unionisation and other key issues.

· recognition of unions without employer interference or resistance.

· swift processes to deal with conflict locally and globally.

· commitment to ILO standards and legal minimums in each country.
