On March 5, UNI’s Danish affiliate HK signed a collective agreement with the Danish employers’ organization, renewing the collective agreement in IT. As reported by Planet Labor, the two-year agreement follows in the wake of the industry agreement, and is valid from March 1, 2012. The agreement affects businesses in computer sales, IT development, and management where HK is represented.

The collective agreement gives the employees added benefits in several fields. Both the right to union representation and the training rights of employees will be strengthened. Apprentices will also see their wages more than double, employers’ parental leave contributions will be bumped up, and employers’ contribution to the pension scheme for women on maternity leave will increase. The new agreement further allows senior employees to reduce their working time for the final five years before retirement.
