Histadrut warning letter to NCR
Histadrut sent a warning letter to NCR Director General: stop the severe harm to your employees' organizing and the employees' committee Chairman
The management of the high-tech company, whose employees seek to advance the negotiations for a first collective agreement, summoned the employees' committee Chairman to an "investigation meeting".
Yaki Haluzi, Chairman of the Hi-Tech Workers Union of the Histadrut, wrote to Director General Guy Perri: "The employees' committee Chairman is the driving force behind the organizing, his summoning is designed for one purpose only and that is to terrorize and to harm the organizing"
"Histadrut regrets the choice of the company's management to continue to operate in this bullying way instead of advancing the process with the employees"
A sharp warning letter that was sent by the Hi-Tech Workers Union to the Site Manager of NCR (formerly Retalix) in Israel, calls on him to stop the severe harm to the employees' organizing and the bullying of employees' committee Chairman.
The letter, that was sent by Yaki Haluzi, Chairman of the Hi-Tech Workers Union of the Histadrut, to Guy Perri, Site Manager of NCR in Israel, came after the Employees' Committee Chairman Lior Tahor was summoned to an investigation meeting due to various and unusual claims against him and that don't have any relation to reality. "The Histadrut view harshly the summoning of the employees' committee Chairman to an investigation meeting",
Haluzi wrote. "The employees' committee Chairman is the driving force behind the organizing, and his summoning is designed for one purpose only and that is to terrorize the leader of the organizing, to discourage the workers and the employees' committee and to harm the organizing."
It is worth mentioning that approximately 700 NCR employees, located in Ra'anana, organized in September last year and have been implementing for several months a series of organizational measures in protest at that the company isn't advancing in conjunction with them the negotiations for a first collective agreement in the company. NCR deals in the supply and development of computerized services for retail marketing chains with a high volume of activity. The global NCR management is located in the US, and an English copy of the letter was also sent to it.
The summoning of Tahor for investigation was done one day after his decision to gather the company's employees for an employees' meeting, during which he told them that the company's management decided to stop the negotiations unilaterally, and that it is the employees' committee's intention to exacerbated the organizational measures - as permitted to it by the law. Indeed, on Thursday 15.9, the employees stopped the company's operations in its entirety.
The decision to summon Tahor for investigation, alongside other bullying which were directed at him recently, indicates a lack of good faith on the part of NCR management, and the Histadrut regrets the choice of the company's management to continue to operate in this bullying way instead of advancing the negotiation process with the employees.
"We call on you to immediately withdraw your demand to carry out the investigation conversation for the employees' committee Chairman, which is not justified at all in the circumstances of the matter and to return to the negotiation table as soon as possible in order to advance the signing of a collective agreement in the company", Haluzi wrote at the end of his letter.
