Following the 4th World Congress of UNI Global Union, Greece’s Telecom Employee Federation, has made strides in their new Collective Labor Contract for the years 2015-2017.

Some major wins for the union include:

• Integration of some 2100 members of OTEPlus (subsidiary of OTE) into OTE. Members will maintain recognition of qualifications and previous experience.
• Full-time OTEPlus call center workers have won indefinite contracts.
• Current OTE members, maintaining their current job classification, will have their salaries restored to the levels of December 2011 and will receive a 35 hour workweek.

These successes strengthen UNI’s World Congress theme of “Including You!” Making substantial gains of including new members with permanent contracts establishes a commitment to wealth distribution in Greece and the world.  OME-OTE has committed their priorities to ensuring job security and youth employment. In their national report OME-OTE promises—with realism and a fighting spirit—to continue uplifting their workers to pre-Memorandum Law.
