On September 18-19, a delegation from Greek Telecom Employees’ Federation (OME-OTE) had a meeting with the employees’ union in Romtelecom, Federatia Sindicatelor din Telecomunicatii (FSTc) in Bucharest.

Before there was a meeting at Romtelecom’s Headquarters with the President and CEO of OTE Group, Mr. Panagis Vourloumis and the CEO of Rometelecom, Mr. George Ioanidis. During this meeting, the information about developments in Romtelecom and the general situation in the telecom sector was provided.

Afterwards there were meetings between the two unions where common problems of employees were discussed.

Both unions - OME-OTE and FSTc - have decided to strengthen their mutual relations, co-operation and co-ordination of action on the national level. As affiliates of UNI Telecom, they agreed to work closely on the international level as well.

They also decided to take initiatives to establish a European works council as provided by the respective European legislation. To start implementing that, it was agreed to hold a meeting with all unions of OTE Group.
