Social Dialogue plays a crucial role in labour management relations; at times of crisis for managing adjustments, provided the social partners engage on continuous dialogues; including crisis anticipation, preventions and mitigation. 

Participants at the ILO Tripartite Workshop to Promote Social Dialogue on Financial Services Reforms concluded in Jakarta, Indonesia recommended constitution of National and Regional Tripartite Councils to regular exchange of information, consultations and collective bargaining amongst social partners. 

The workshop brought together delegations from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Philippines. Workers group participants consisted of UNI Finance affiliates representing the respective countries except China. UNI Apro Finance President, Masakazu Tahara, Vice Presidents Fiona Jordan – FSU Australia, and Catherine Jikunan SBEU Malaysia joined the delegation together with Marciao Monzane, Head of Department UNI Finance and Jayasri Priyalal UNI Apro Director for Finance Sector participated at the workshop.

Jun Umali National President of NUBE Philippines introduced the Banking Industry Tripartite Council and its functions workshop participants endorsed similar councils to be established in other countries stressing the need to ensure social dimensions to the ASEAN Economic Community integration taking place by end of 2015.

Mr John Sendanyoye, ILO Financial Services Sector Specialist facilitated the workshop which was held on 5-6 August 2015, Jakarta Indonesia.
