Government shows no political will

Negotiations without results
As of 4:50 pm, the Labor Minister Álvaro González and the Deputy Minister Eugenio Solano entered the Labor Ministry joining the trade union leaders that are in the building in their fourth day. This time the Government, being accompanied by a legal adviser, submitted a new document which the union leaders could not accept and therefore developed a counter proposal.
Government without political will
By midnight the parties realized three rounds of negotiations without reaching an agreement. The government does not show political will to resolve the conflict and instead assumes intransigent positions such as holding the spurious recognition of the assembly and a provocative attitude as to prevent the entry of food and drinks to union leaders. Tomorrow at 10:00 am a final round of negotiations is scheduled before a forceful eviction of the building is to be expected.
Broad solidarity
Throughout the day they were activities such as marches, speeches and music around the building to back up the negotiators on the seventh floor. Political parties of Costa Rica like frente amplio, PAC, Alianza Patriótica and Integración Nacional expressed being in favor of maintaining the union pressure in the Ministry of Labor.
The bishop of the Lutheran Church of Costa Rica, Melvin Jimenez, also came along and prayed for the solution of the conflict, social justice and the human rights of the people of Costa Rica.
The Federation Limonense Workers (FETRAL) which groups most of the social organizations of the province announced its full support to the labor movement and joined itself to the cause. They will take all necessary measures to defend their rights.
The Union of Airline Workers (SIELAS) of Panama showed its solidarity with the struggle of their colleagues in order to remain strong in resistance because it is the only way to fight neo-liberal privatization plans for Latin America.
