Yesterday, commissioner for Information Society and Media Viviane Reding posted a video on her website in which she stresses the crucial role of the IT industry in reducing Europe’s carbon footprint.



This follows the adoption by the European Commission of the Communication on mobilising Information and Communication Technologies to facilitate the transition to an energy-efficient, low carbon economy. The communication mainly states the different ways the ICT industry can help reducing the amount of energy used in several sectors of the economy such as construction, transport and ICT itself.
