The Dutch cleaners brought their fight for respect to Germany this weekend. The National Cleaning Executive of IGBAU pledged full support for their colleagues in the Netherlands. Cleaners from both countries exchanged ideas and information about conditions in their countries.



A discussion was held to consider how to involve more European unions in this work that was led by UNI Organiser Nigel Venes and plans for cross-border campaigns were commenced. IGBAU Lead Organiser Lars Dieckmann said; "This opportunity to support our colleagues from the Netherlands was a great experience and we could see that the problems for cleaners are the same all over Europe. Cleaners must wake up, organise and bring their struggles together."



Ron Meyer, FNV Lead Organiser said "Our slogan is that this is not a march; its a movement. An uprising of the invisible. We go to Utrecht next week to continue our demands."
