Postal operators from around the world have assembled in Geneva this week to discuss the future of the industry at a Universal Postal Union World Strategy Conference. The event, which has as its theme "innovation, integration and inclusion", brings together UPU members ahead of the 2016 Congress in Istanbul to outline the UPU's strategy to transform postal services for the 21st century realities of declining letter post and the e-commerce boom in its wake. 

The UPU is focused on helping posts develop new innovative services, integrate cross-border parcel services and contribute to inclusive development with universal postal and financial services. UNI Global Union General Secretary Philip Jennings will speak at the conference on Tuesday, where he will outline the role for postal workers and their unions in shaping the future of postal services to deliver on sustainable development.

UNI Global Union, as a member of the UPU's Consultative Committee, engages with the UPU and its members on its initiatives. UNI works closely with the UPU to develop joint programs on postal innovations, social dialogue in the post and to ensure universal postal services contribute to sustainable growth around the world.
