In a seminar convened by the Federation of Radio-FITERT on the 26-27July, the union of Brazilian broadcasters issued a statement publicly repudiating the anti trade union attitude of Paraíba Television Ltd. With the creation of the Union of Workers in radio and television broadcasting Companies in the city of Campina Grande, the abuse of the constitutional principles and the Convention of the ILO (International Labour Organization)by laying off many workers, the companies has been heavily criticised.



Workers such as Willy Félix de Lima Gouveia, Antonio Guedes Pinheiro Neto, Dominic Costa Queiroz, Flavio Roberto Souza Farias, Paulo Arquilino de Oliveira, Osvani Lima de Sousa, Gloria Gomes dos Santos, Priscilla Albuquerque Henriques de Son, have all been laid off. Whereas harassment of union leaders Ibrahim Mahmoud and Luciano Guedes has been frequent, with the pair being subjected, against the Brazilian Penal Code on crimes against workers organizations, to continuously humiliating and degrading conditions.
